The filter change indicator is a timer that counts down from 188 days (6 months). The timer is independent of actual run time. When 0 days remain, change the filters and reset the timer for another 188 days (6 months).

The unit contains 3 Smokestop™ progressive carbon filters each with a honeycomb-type structure that improves airflow and has hundreds of odor and gas absorbing carbon pellets. Each filter contains 2.0 lbs of coconut shell activated carbon impregnated with a 70/30 blend of Potassium Hydroxide (KOH) and Potassium Iodide (KI). The carbon eliminates volatile organic compounds (VOC), which are responsible for odors.
